Farmhouse Elegance

This renovation in a historic farmhouse channels all of the elegance of an era long past. The original footprint encompassed space between the main hallway of the house and a den, causing the owners to have to walk through the bathroom in order to access the den. The plan was reworked to create a hallway on the exterior wall of the bathroom by adding a wall.  Minimizing the space required removing the bathtub and replacing it with a shower, but the smaller size created a cozy retreat.

Benjamin Moore River Blue was used to color-drench the room.  Moldings were added for architectural interest, and a beautiful floral print wall covering was applied above the chair rail.  To pull out the pink contrast of the wallpaper, a band of pink tile was used in the shower enclosure.

The porcelain floor tile pattern emulates marble but is less maintenance-intensive and more affordable for the budget.

Custom vanity with a matching storage armoire, finished in a rich stain, also evokes a historic sensibility along with the gold fixtures and finishes.
