Small Bathroom Remodel Ideas | Mid-Century Modern Design Upgrade

A small bathroom thoughtfully reimagined with mid-century inspired finishes, improved layout, and smart storage solutions for modern living.

Mid Century Gold

Compact in scale yet rich in character, this mid-century bathroom was thoughtfully reimagined to balance heritage with modern function.

The redesign began with a focus on cohesion. Worn asbestos tile was replaced with durable gray flooring that echoes materials found throughout the home, creating a quiet continuity between spaces. This subtle alignment allows the bathroom to feel intentional rather than isolated.

Spatially, the room was reworked to enhance both comfort and usability. Previously underutilized square footage along the back wall was incorporated into an expanded shower, introducing a more generous and open experience. The original pedestal sink was replaced with a wall-mounted vanity, offering integrated storage while maintaining a sense of visual lightness. A mirrored medicine cabinet further conceals everyday essentials, preserving the clean lines of the space.

Finishes were carefully selected to reflect the home’s mid-century origins — understated, warm, and enduring — while introducing the functionality required for modern living.

The result is a bathroom that feels effortless and refined, where every detail serves both purpose and place.
