Have you noticed how Scandinavian style is hitting its stride in the design world right now?
It’s minimalist. It’s clean. It’s uber modern. It’s the perfect style to bridge the gap between Mid-Mod and urban for those who don’t want to go all out Mid-Century, or minimalist, but want to add a little softness.
The basic rules of Scandinavian style are these:
Start with a white base.
Stay detail oriented and make sure that everything has a place. Keep it “put together” and tidy.
Stick with muted colors.
Either tone on tone, or pastels work in a Scandinavian design.
The iconic Drop chair by Arne Jacobsen come in some beautiful pastels. Available via Hive Modern.
Other beautiful chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen, are the Egg Chair and the Swan Chair.
Keep the lines clean.
The lines don’t get much cleaner than they do with the Bolig Bed by Scandis.
Add texture and layers.
Keep it simple, but beautiful.

Susan Dining Chair by Emfurn.
Clearcut Sideboard by Bolia.
The Plus Table by Hermann Bongard.
Scandinavian style is actually quite easy to achieve if you follow the guidelines.
